Chakra Dance

Chakra Dance is a dance therapy program focused on your 7 chakras. Each Chakra Dance session includes:
• Conscious dance: Specific movements to activate and balance each chakra.
• Guided meditation: Visualizations to connect with the energy of each center.
• Yoga and stretches: Postures to unblock and harmonize the chakras.
• Chanting and mantras: Sound vibrations to empower each chakra.
• Breathing exercises: Techniques to release emotional blockages.
• Themed music: Selection of rhythms for each chakra (e.g., drums for the root chakra, soft melodies for the heart chakra).
• Group dynamics: Activities to encourage connection and emotional expression.
• Supplementary material: PDFs with theory, exercises, and playlists.

The program is composed of 8 sessions. Each session focuses on one chakra, from the root (Muladhara) to the crown (Sahasrara), promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The final session is dedicated to all chakras.

Each session lasts 60 minutes, combining dance, breathing, meditation, and dynamics to balance the corresponding chakra.

Based on Chakra Healing Dance Therapy, Chakra Dance is a tool to release and balance the energetic body through dance, in order to heal the physical, mental, and emotional body.

Chakra means 'wheel of light' in Sanskrit, and refers to the energy centers located along our spine, responsible for regulating our physical, energetic, emotional, and spiritual health.

The chakras contain all the memories of our experiences, and healing them gives us the power to purify blockages, fears, sadness, guilt, and limiting beliefs that we accumulate throughout life, in order to awaken the positive qualities and gifts that lie dormant.

Chakra Dance is fundamentally based on 'medicine dance'. The concept of medicine dance refers to any discipline that promotes our health and well-being through dance. Medicine dance is an ancestral practice that combines rhythmic and expressive movements with a healing and spiritual purpose, based on the belief that body movement can facilitate emotional, mental, and physical healing. Through this form of dance, the aim is to release tension, unblock energies, and connect with oneself and the environment.

For us, as women, Chakra Dance not only promotes emotional, physical, and social wellbeing, but also improves self-esteem, reduces stress and anxiety, strengthens the body, encourages emotional expression, and fosters social bonds. It helps manage trauma, improves body image, and empowers us. It is also effective for depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
